    Below is a PDF which will hopefully help you identify “some” bits of pottery you might come across whilst metal detecting.

    Thank you Ray, not sure what I just did but I deleted your reply 🙁 Sorry.

    Just updated it to include “black Burnished” ware. Still a lot of spelling mistakes but I’ll sort out the “boring stuff” after. 😀

    JUST READ ABOUT BLACK BURNISH WARE IT WAS USED FOR BURIALS,WOW AM I CLEVER,PMSFL.

    Lol Ray, well done and well found. Now the £m dollar question is “was BB ware favoured more for burials than any other type”? Its a bloody hard question to answer I would imagine as most of the other styles are very regional in their use. Someone had bound to have done some research in to this….just a matter of finding it really. 🙂
